When Founder and Executive Chairman Wayne Ormond launched the Refund Group in 2004 with the promise to refund its customers a share of its commissions, it was just another small broker with no market share or reputation. 

Six years later, Refund is regarded by its peers as a leader in the mortgage broker industry, as evidenced by an array of industry awards and respect for its professional and ethical standards.  Refund is positioned as the leading broker that is unaligned with a major bank.

Since our Inception, the Refund Group has grown significantly and now has over 350 Franchisees nationally in every state and territory.   Today Refund has a head office staff of more than 35 providing full corporate back up and support for the company’s Australia-wide network of Franchisees. 

Our unique selling position has set the Refund Group apart from our competitors,   we believe in the philosophy of building success through sharing with our customers.  Our business is run so that it directly benefits our customers and the most notable way we do this is that we share our commission with our customers as our way of saying thank you for doing business with us. 

The second component of Refund’s innovative business model, that of conducting its business through the company’s Australia-wide network of Franchisees, is an equally significant factor in the company’s market success.

Ormond has always seen the benefit of adding professional and qualified synergistic services alongside its Refund mortgage broking service in order to provide additional and related benefits to homebuyers.

In 2006 Refund Financing & Leasing was added to the Group and in 2008 Refund Property launched to the public.  An alliance was announced with the largest financial planning group in Australia, Professional Investment Services (PIS) in August 2009 with Refund Financial Planning commencing in February 2010.

Now, in addition to these successful business models, Refund Real Estate will be launching to the public in 2011 and we are currently seeking Franchisees across the country.
